How to connect PayPal as a payment provider for a monthly subscription campaign
Important to know:
- Funds transferred through PayPal will be set as a "transaction" by default. To set it as a "donation," you need to check the "Allow Donations" box.
- To enable full connection and proper payment processing, all details must be provided, including the verification and identification process (KYC) with PayPal. This is relevant for both new and existing accounts.
- Note that failure to complete the identification process with PayPal will result in restrictions on receiving and withdrawing funds, and even account suspension.
If you want to connect PayPal as a payment provider for the monthly subscription campaign, follow these steps:
1. Go to Account Settings > Payment Settings.
If PayPal is already set up, you will see it there. If not, first set up your PayPal account on the page.
2. After setting up PayPal, click confirm next to the "Enable Monthly Payments" option.
3. A window will open where you need to enter the Client Id and Secret Key.
4. Go to the following link: https://developer.paypal.com/developer/applications/create
5. Scroll down and click the "Create App" button under REST API Applications.
6. Add a name for the app. You can call it "Drove" or any other name.
7. Click the "Create App" button.
8. Switch the tab to "Live" mode.
10. Return to the Drove window and paste the Client ID and Secret Key into the empty fields, then click "Confirm."
11. Your PayPal account is now activated for monthly payments.
